1. About these terms
These terms apply to the website starterhouse.golf and to family accounts on it. The website is operated by Gunning Industries Corp, doing business as The Starter House (“The Starter House”, “we”, “us”). You can reach us at josh@starterhouse.golf.
By creating a family account you agree to these terms. Other documents apply alongside them: our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle information, and our Cancellation & Refund Policy, which applies to class reservations.
2. Family accounts are for parents and guardians
- A family account may be opened only by an adult aged 18 or older who is the parent or legal guardian of each child added to it.
- Children do not have accounts and must not use the website to send us information. Every child’s details are entered by the adult who holds the account.
- You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email address. Keep your email account and your codes private, and do not share your sign-in with anyone.
- You are responsible for what is done through your account. If you think someone else has used it, tell us at josh@starterhouse.golf straight away.
3. Accurate information
Please give accurate, complete details about yourself and each child, and keep them up to date in your account: names, date of birth, contact details, the emergency contact, and anything coaches need to know to include your child safely. A child’s class age group is set by their age on the date shown for the term, so the date of birth must be correct.
4. Classes, prices and availability
- Class descriptions, times, ages and prices are shown on the website. The total shown before you pay is the amount you are charged. Tuition covers one term only: nothing renews and nothing is charged again automatically.
- Availability is live and can change at any moment. Some classes release places in stages, and a place is reserved only when payment is confirmed.
- When you start checkout, a place is held for you for the time shown on the page. If the hold ends before payment completes, the place is released. If a payment completes after the place was given to someone else, we refund it in full automatically.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Your reservation is confirmed when Stripe confirms the payment, and we email you a confirmation.
- The first term’s opening, location and first class date are provisional until we confirm them by email.
5. Waitlists
Joining a waitlist is free and is not a reservation. When a place opens, it is offered to waiting families in the order they joined. An offer holds the place only until the time stated in the offer; if it is not accepted by then, it passes to the next family. You can leave a waitlist at any time from your account.
6. Cancellations and refunds
Cancellations and refunds are governed by the Cancellation & Refund Policy you accept at checkout. The version you accept is recorded with your reservation.
7. Messages we send
We send the emails needed to run your account and your reservations: sign-in codes, confirmations, waitlist offers and important class updates. We do not send text messages at present. If you tell us you would like text-message updates, we only record that interest; before any texts are sent, we will explain how they work and how to stop them, and ask you to confirm.
8. Using the website lawfully
- Use the website only for lawful purposes and for your own family’s enrollment.
- Do not access or try to access another family’s account or information, give false information, or try to get around holds, limits or the waitlist order.
- Do not interfere with the website’s security or operation, upload harmful code, or collect information from it by automated means.
9. Our content
The Starter House name, crest, logos, text, photographs and design of this website belong to us or are used with permission. You may view and print pages for your own family’s use. Please do not copy, reuse or adapt them for any other purpose without our written permission.
10. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect accounts and information, including encrypted connections, one-time sign-in codes and access rules that let each family see only its own records. No website or system can be made completely secure.
11. Website availability
We work to keep the website available and accurate, but it may sometimes be unavailable, for example during maintenance or a provider outage, and it may contain errors that we correct when we find them. To the extent the law allows, the website itself is provided as it is and as available, without any promise that it will always be uninterrupted or error-free.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any right you have under law that cannot be limited or excluded by agreement.
12. Suspending an account
We may suspend or close an account that is used in breach of these terms or to harm others. This does not take away any refund you are entitled to under the Cancellation & Refund Policy.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Each version is dated and published on this website, and earlier versions remain available. A change applies from its effective date onward; it does not change a reservation you have already paid for or a document you have already signed. If we make an important change, we will tell account holders by email or in their account.
